Well hello there! If you are someone who is not Catholic, but you are exploring the possibility, we would like to humbly offer a few suggestions.
There are some great resources to explore under the "Catholic Resources" tab on this website. These have far more in-depth discussions than are available on St. John's website.
There are lots of great reasons to become Catholic: unity within your own family, a well-structured faith, the integrity of its teachings over time even in the face of tremendous cultural pressure, a place to belong, a cause much bigger than yourself to support. From a "doctrinal" point of view, the best reason to become Catholic is the coherence of the Faith: if you actually learn what the Church teaches, the common myths are dispelled and instead, the curtain is pulled back from the truly moving beauty and power of Truth. In comparison with other Christian denominations, the Catholic Faith has far greater depth and coherence.
Let's be honest (and humble): there have been huge moral failures on the part of many Catholics and many Catholic leaders- but that does not mean that the legacy of people living heroically good lives does not continue within the Church, from folks in the pews to the lives of most priests and religious to the lives of the Saints.
Ok, so this is another area where honesty and humility are needed. Compared to many Protestant churches, the Catholic church often does not offer as many opportunities for "fellowship" and the kind of deep small-group support in Protestant circles. However, there are still many opportunities for it. Further, your contribution might be absolutely critical to this community. And still further, the community of the Catholic Church extends through time with devotion to the Saints and throughout the world in a very explicit way through the Pope and the Bishops and common doctrine and worship throughout the globe.
The Catholic Church focuses on God first and foremost - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - giving Him the worship owed to Him and developing an intimate relationship with Him. This God-focused worship is most evident in the Mass, where everything is directed toward worshiping God and there is almost no focus on getting to know your neighbor (though you absolutely should get to know your neighbor outside of Mass!!). And the most evident invitation to a deeply intimate relationship with Him is in the writings of the Saints and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
