The Preschool Director administers the Preschool program. The Director has an open door policy that encourages parents to come into the Preschool office at any time. Each family is unique and we recognize that parent participation can vary from family to family. Parents are encouraged to come into the classroom to assist with special projects, substitute, read, and become involved in other activities. Parents can also participate by baking for our annual bake sale, cutting out pieces at home for a project to assist the teacher, and helping in other ways that do not involve being in the classroom. Each child has a “Special Day” in lieu of his/her birthday, and if possible, one or both parents are asked to spend part or all of the class period with their child. It is an excellent way to become a part of your child’s total experience in the Preschool. Siblings, grandparents, other relatives and friends are also welcome to come to a child’s Special Day.
The Parent Staff Association includes classroom representatives who act as liaisons for their parents and the Director. The PSA provides support to the Preschool through volunteering, two fundraising activities, special projects, coordinating class field trips and special class days, assisting with numerous class and school activities, and parent assistance in numerous other activities such as a pancake supper and a soup supper.
